How well do you know the God of Abraham?
Prophesy!
Thus saith the Lord “Seeing ye shall see see and perceive, reading ye shall read and understand. Ye are my bride walk worthy, purify yourself in righteousness. I do not lay your iniquities and sins before you, I do not lay the uncleanliness to your charge because my redemptive blood has washed them all away and your iniquities will I remember no more. Come up higher oh bride I call unto you..come sit at your place by my side prepared from r you by my Father to smite the root of darkness and spread the light given to you before the foundations of the world and ye shall find rest unto your souls only in the perfect work of liberty which I have given thee.......saith the Lord. Saith the Lord”
The Lord bless his word in Jesus name, Amen.
The first individual in the Bible who was willing to have concise knowledge of God's Personality is Abraham.
Abraham yielded to the call of the invisible reality through the walk of faith; obtaining righteousness before the institution of the old testimony/testament/will.
This adventure of faith started in:
Genesis 12:1-3
[1]Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2]And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3]And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
While instructed through this journey Abraham had a mindset which the writer of Hebrews stated.
Hebrews 11:8,10
[8]By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
[10]For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Through the walk of faith Abraham had an encounter with God as El-Shaddai in:
Genesis 17:1
[1]And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God (El-shaddai); walk before me, and be thou perfect.
He had an encounter with God as El-Adonai in:
Genesis 18:3
[3]And said, My Lord (El-Adonai), if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
Also he had an encounter with God as Jehovah-Jireh will Genesis 22:14
[14]And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.
He had a Revelation of God when he met Melchizedek as El-Elyon in:
Genesis 14:18-19
[18]And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
[19]And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth (El-Elyon):
This encounters occurred during season times when he needed God to intervene in situations that strongly affected him. Without God's intervention there is a likelihood that his faith might dwindle through the mockery of others.
Abraham had this three major encounters centred about a particular challenge in his life called Childlessness.
Lets go deep!
In Gen 12 vs 1 which we have looked into God called him into an inheritance without paying a dine for it. He wasn't a poor man because if he was poor he wouldn't have left his kindred with SOULS THAT THEY HAD GOTTEN IN HARAN.
Abraham has not yet requested for children yet God said:
Genesis 12:7
[7]And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
Note: The God of Abraham never let's his own down even if they did wrong or commit 'sin'.
So many people think that the reason why they are going through that pain, sickness, tribulation or persecution is because they have done wrong. That was not how God was to Abraham. Let's look at the following selected scriptures to prove this:
Genesis 12:10-13
[10]And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.
[11]And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:
[12]Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.
[13]Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.
Abraham lied that Sarah was his sister. Was Sarah his sister?
YES.
But she was more than a sister to him she was his wife. He even collected dowry on his wife. Genesis 12:16
[16]And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.
I am not saying when we commit sin God backs us up. No, sometimes in our natural weakness when we can't help ourselves in the course of danger and do not still direct our course to him; God has pity on his own and would never let his own derail.
Question: Are you God's own?
Yet God vindicated Abraham in his weakness in:
Genesis 12:17-19
[17]And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.
[18]And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?
[19]Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.
Abraham did wrong yet God used that opportunity to bless him to the extent that he was more prosperous than the famine that occurred at his time.
Genesis 13:1-2
[1]And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
[2]And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
Let's go deeper!!!
Abraham's childlessness for 25 years after the biblical occasion that God first spoke to him wasn't because God wanted it so but He (God) required something of us to give. God did not require anything from Abraham when he called him out of HARAN to Canaan. However, for God to give him the promise of an heir, God required something delicate from Abraham which we will discover soonest.
Let's look at this scripture again:
Genesis 12:1,4
[1]Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[4]So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Look at the Year difference and what God said:
Genesis 17:1-2
[1]And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
[2]And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
After 24 years God was telling Abraham to walk in PERFECTION. Mind you Abraham has already attained righteousness in:
Genesis 15:5-6
[5]And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
[6]And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Even with this level of righteousness without the law God still require PERFECTION from Abraham. This Father of Faith believed God but was still yet without understanding of how God intends to fulfill his promise though he believed that he was going to do it.
God spoke for 16 verses in Genesis 17 and all what Abraham could say because of the inability to fully conceptualize God's promise was:
Genesis 17:17-18
[17]Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
[18]And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
In Reality: this happens to a lot of us when a prophesy comes forth and in our hearts we ask ourselves how can this be?
God has promised you a Job when you were in your graduation year. 10 years is gone yet you still find yourselves in your Father's house.
You've been married now for 8 years. All the Pastors prayed when you saw the brother or sister that she is the bone of your bone and flesh of your flesh yet no fruit of the womb.... Your case is still not as worse as Abraham's. He got his own 25 years after he knew the Lord.
HOW WAS ABRAHAM ABLE TO OVERCOME THIS?
Abraham was able to overcome this challenge that he had through concise and consistent revelation of God's word. It is not bad to ask God how is he going to do it. You asking God how he has promised to bless you is not a function of faithlessness.
I will cite an example through what happened to Zachariah and Mary.
About Zachariah:
Luke 1:11-17
[11]And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
[12]And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
[13]But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
[14]And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
[15]For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
[16]And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
[17]And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
Watch what his response was:
Luke 1:18
[18]And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
This is a result of praying and fasting as a routine that many Christians undergo but when God is ready to take actions they began to give logical and scientific excuses as though God did not go to school...Neglecting that he's the founder of knowledge (Omniscience).
About Mary:
Luke 1:28-33
[28]And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
[29]And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
[30]And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
[31]And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
[32]He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
[33]And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Watch Mary's reaction to the Angel:
Luke 1:34
[34]Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
This is not a question of faithlessness but willingness to comprehend the possibility of God's promise.
Lets come up higher in Revelation!!!
Brethren, if you have received a promise, a word of prophesy, knowledge or wisdom about things that needs urgency in your life and it seems the finger of God is not bringing physical oriented result..... You need understanding through faith.
Let's go back to Abraham to see how he was able to conquer his challenge.
Genesis 17:19-22
[19]And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
[20]And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
[21]But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
[22]And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
Brethren, where there is understanding....no room for story...where there is comprehension of God's word faith remains unshakable.
God saw that for Abraham to walk in PERFECTION he needed understanding through Revelation which would mingle with his faith to produce the desired result.
For maturing Christians you asking God to give you this or give you that is not the same with a Baby Christian who will ask now and under five minutes there is result. God does that to him because he is a child but as a spiritual adolescent or maturing individual, you need to posses the Kingdom with everything you've got.
And one of the major prerequisite for kingdom possession and advancement is to have testimonies of what God has done or what he is doing for you without which men would not believe the salvation of God through Christ evident in you.
The bible acknowledges us in:
Proverbs 2:3,6,11
[3]Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
[6]For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
[11]Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
Proverbs 4:1,7
[1]Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
[7]Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
As you Journey through the race that is set before us let us walk in understanding giving by faith and not by mere knowledge (gnosis).
God bless you....
